ME - And my love of gardening......
I've been very fortunate to be involved in plants for as long as I can remember, here I am aged 3 or 4 or 5, being a head gardener. I've also been lucky to have been trained in both Horticulture, Plant Taxonomy and Plantsmanship at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and gone on to research plants qhich are useful in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
I'm pretty obsessive about plants - my special interest is in edible and medicinal plants suited to the Scottish Climate. But I enjoy a good orchid or flouncy oriental poppy as much as the next person.

Age 4 and a wee bit. xx
ReplyDeleteI've near heard the term "peedie"... I like it.
ReplyDeleteI love it so much we called one of the dogs after it....:)
DeleteLiked this posting - what did you decide to do? I love nepeta - I'd have it before lavender any day - I can't stand the smell :)
ReplyDeleteAngle the verdict is still out. One dog I'm sure is half cat, so the nepeta might just drive him crazy.....
DeleteI've never heard it called peedie either lol.
ReplyDeleteI live in Caithness so I completely understand the conditions you garden under and I've had to quickly learn the art of improvisation and patience. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your 'back yard' space.
I live smack next to the coast nr Lybster and I've had quite some success (suprisingly) with Lavender. 'Hidcote' seems to be the most resilient and as long as I grow them in pots and put them somewhere sheltered for the winter they do quite well :)
Great post.
