That the simplest of flowers on the beach in November can make your heart sing, beauty surrounds us you just need to open your eyes.
That children (and new babbies), family, friends, puppies, cats and good food are a real honour to be around, always.
That a good hearty natter with your child on the beach or on Skype, is priceless, all the better if you nearly collapse laughing.
That missing those special folks who should be around but aren't due to stupid illnesses taking them away, or from broken hearts, or old age, or misguided lives or merely just distance, are still loved, if missing for the immedatiate moment.
That each day should be embraced with vigour and laughter, full of adventures.
That negativity in life, is a drain and should leave the building as quickly as possible (like hiccups).
That eating lobster for lunch, on your own, is OK, if a little decadent for a week day, so what if you'll eat from the cupboards for the rest of the month!
That whilst the simple things in life can make your heart sing, (like neeps), a new pot should never be anything but cuddled.
That it's OK to be yourself, be it outrageous, be it modest, be it courageous, be it plain lazy or just be it diffident, just be yourself, its perfect acceptable.
That flowers are the master race.
Oh and finally, that all dogs smell minging (revolting) after you've taken them to the beach, helping them to swin and whilst its not their fault its OK to leave them to dry before letting them on the sofa!
I wonder why wet dog smells so much more unpleasant than wet cat? Wet cats just smell, well, a bit damp really, while there are not many smells nastier than wet dog!
ReplyDeleteI think dogs take a pride in it, so they excel.
DeleteI so wasn't going to let my dog sit on the furniture when I got her. Now she has a permanent spot on the top of the couch where she can watch everything. I call it her throne. Luckily she doesn't get to the beach much so she's not often too stinky.
ReplyDeleteMe neither, no dogs on the furiture, one cuddled beside me, one parked like a cat on the top of the other sofa. Unfortunately for me, we go to the beach daily. I'm a rod for my own back. Nice to see you again! Hope that climbing frame is down now!
DeleteThere's little worse than the smell of wet Spaniel, especially when - like our Jack at present - they have an ear infection too!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I'm familiar with wet spaniel, I guess its a bit like wet cairn...........poor lug infection. Hope it gets better soon.
DeleteI loved this - and thank you for my first chuckle of the day. How do you keep a slightly damp haggis off the sofa?? he's so quick and bouncy.... "wheeeeee I'm there........whoa... no I'm not...."
ReplyDeleteSian I think perhaps he's some kind of tasmanian devil. Thankfully, in times of respite and smelliness, Haggis has a puppy crate where he's put under lock and key with a bonio. He's perfectly happy there until he's dry.........or tired. But he doesn't get tired much.
DeleteI wish that last entry could be put on Face Book Fay. It was so lovely and right in so many ways that I'm sure many more people should see it and nod their heads in agreement - and not just about smelly dogs lol! Regards Claire.
ReplyDeleteAunty Claire, given its your Mum's birthday this week - I've reposted this as mark 2 but without the smell dog bit. Hugs and I've shared on FB for you x
Deletewhat a great post. It made me smile and nod. Smelly dogs equal a really fun day so I dont mind smelly because it means we have had fun. Moo isnt allowed on the couch (well at least when Mr Moo is around - right now he is curled up next to me on the couch but he isnt smelly)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheri - I don't mind smelly at a distance but smelly and wet and trying to cuddle in, doesn't get the yes vote here. Thankfully at the moment, they are both dry and snoring, yup on the couch. But then again that's why we have blankets on them, to lob them in the washing machine.
DeleteWhat a great post Fay. Am looking forward to a weekend catching up with two of my favourite people, who we haven't seen for months, and sharing this wonderful place with them, so this was perfect timing, finally catching up with you a bit. I love watching the local dogs cavort in the sea here, but am always grateful I don't have to take them home with me and get them dry again!!
